How to Play Sequence
- Players take turns playing a card from hand and placing a chip on the matching board space, using jacks for wild moves or removals per the rulebook.
- Five of your chips in a straight row — vertically, horizontally, or diagonally — counts as one completed sequence toward winning that board.
- The first side to complete two sequences on that board wins that game; log that winner on the scorecard row for that board.
- Play as many boards as you like; the side with the most board wins on the scorecard leads your match.
Tips & Strategy for playing Sequence
- Block an opponent who is one space away from a five-chip line when you have the matching card.
- Save two-eyed jacks for high-leverage open spots, but do not let them sit unused so long that the board clogs.
- Remember dead corners on the standard board — the four corner spaces count toward a line without needing a matching card.
Frequently asked questions about Sequence
What belongs in each Sequence row?
Each row is one complete Sequence from the fresh board until someone (or a partnership) finishes two separate five-in-a-row lines of their chips. Pick that winner for the row.
Can we track partnerships on this scorecard?
Yes. Add one column per competing side — rename columns to team names when you play partnerships, or use individual names for two- or three-player free-for-all.
Who wins if we play several Sequence boards?
The side with the most finished-board wins when you stop playing is ahead for your session — the scorecard keeps a running win total for each column.
How does this Sequence scorecard work?
Enter scores in the rows for each hand, hole, or round — the scorecard updates running totals and highlights the leader automatically. You can add players, rename them, and keep the sheet open for the whole session.
Can I use ScorecardGO to score Sequence on mobile?
Yes. ScorecardGO is built for phones and tablets: large tap targets, readable tables, and layouts that fit narrow screens so you can score Sequence wherever you're playing.
Does this Sequence scorecard work offline?
Yes. Your scorecard works offline when the page is loaded, and changes sync when you are back online so you do not lose progress mid-game.
Is this Sequence scorecard free?
ScorecardGO is free to use in the browser with no account required — open the Sequence scorecard and start tracking points right away.
