How to Play Mölkky

  • CheckmarkSet the numbered skittles in a tight group. Players throw the throwing skittle from the throwing zone to knock skittles over.
  • CheckmarkCount each throw’s points before entering: if exactly one skittle falls, score that skittle’s number; if two or more fall, score how many skittles fell (not the sum of their numbers).
  • CheckmarkThe goal is to reach exactly 50 points first. If a throw would take you above 50, your score is reset to 25 instead.
  • CheckmarkStand skittles upright where they landed before the next throw. After each throw, the next player throws from behind your new throwing line.
  • CheckmarkHouse rule: three misses in a row can eliminate a player — agree before play if you use this.
