How to Play Uno
- Be the first player to get rid of all your cards in a hand by matching the current color or number, or by playing action and wild cards.
- When one player plays their last card, the hand ends. That player is the hand winner for scoring purposes.
- The hand winner scores the sum of every card still held by the other players, including any cards drawn because the final card was Draw Two or Wild Draw Four. Each other player enters 0 for that hand.
- Card values: number cards 0–9 are worth face value; Draw Two, Reverse, and Skip are worth 20 each; Wild and Wild Draw Four are worth 50 each.
- The first player to reach 500 total points wins the match (house rules may use a different target).
Tips & Strategy for playing Uno
- When someone is close to one card, remember high-value action and wild cards still in play — they can swing the hand score.
- Call “Uno” when you play down to one card; forgetting often costs a two-card penalty in official rules.
- Save wild cards for moments they maximize your chance to go out or force opponents to keep high-value cards.
