How to Play Phase 10
- Players complete phase requirements in order, such as sets, runs, and color combinations from the official phase list.
- Each hand, draw and play cards toward your current phase. Once you complete the required meld, you may lay your phase down.
- The player who goes out first scores 0 points for the hand.
- All other players enter the total value of cards left in their hand (or simple card count, if your group uses house rules).
- After all rounds are completed, the player with the lowest cumulative score wins.
- Scoring: number cards = face value, skip = 15, reverse = 15 (if using modern editions), wild = 25
Tips & Strategy for playing Phase 10
- Watch discards — you may pick up the last discard to complete your phase when it is your turn.
- Discard cards that help opponents’ phases only when you gain a bigger advantage.
- Track which phase each player is on so you can anticipate what they are collecting.
