How to Play Gin Rummy
- In standard two-player Gin Rummy each player is dealt 10 cards and aims to form melds (sets of equal rank or runs in one suit). The first player to reach 100 total points wins the match.
- After each hand, enter the points each player earned for that deal — the difference after a valid knock, the opponent’s deadwood after gin (often plus a 25-point gin bonus), or an undercut when the knocker did not have the lower deadwood.
- When counting deadwood: aces are usually 1, face cards are 10, and pip cards count at face value. Only cards not in valid melds count.
- Stop when a player reaches or passes 100 on the running total — many groups also award a game bonus for winning every hand in a deal; add that in the final hand row if you use it.
