  • CheckmarkIf you make your bid, score 10 points per trick bid plus 1 point for each overtrick.
  • CheckmarkIf you fail to make your bid, lose 10 points per trick bid as a penalty.
  • CheckmarkEach overtrick is a sandbag. Every time your running bag count reaches another 10 bags, take a −100 penalty.
  • CheckmarkThe player with the highest total score after all hands wins.

Tips & Strategy for playing Spades

  • CheckmarkBid honestly based on your hand strength — overbidding risks sandbag penalties that cost far more.
  • CheckmarkSave your high trumps for critical tricks; don't waste them early when you can discard low cards.
  • CheckmarkWatch overtricks closely — approaching 10 total bags is a major risk that costs −100 points.
  • CheckmarkAvoid handing opponents easy overtricks when they are close to a bag penalty.
