How to Play Jeopardy!
- Split into teams (rename each column). The host reads clues from your board, app, or clue list.
- After each clue — including Daily Doubles and your house buzz rules — enter the points each team earned for that clue only.
- Use negative values when a wrong answer costs points; leave other teams at 0 if they did not buzz.
- The scorecard adds each clue to a running total so you always see overall standings.
- When you finish the board or stop playing, the team with the highest grand total wins — use your own tie-break if tied.
Tips & Strategy for playing Jeopardy!
- Agree up front on clue values, wrong-answer penalties, Daily Double wagers, and how you handle Final Jeopardy.
- Name each team on its column so subs and spectators can follow the board.
- Type the actual points won or lost for each clue — e.g. 400 for a correct $400 clue, or −200 after a wrong buzz if your rules penalize.
- Enable the optional scorecard timer so every clue gets the same time limit, or use your host’s clock — just stay consistent.
Frequently asked questions about Jeopardy!
What goes in each Jeopardy! clue row?
Each row is one clue. Enter the points each team earned from that clue — usually one team scores the clue value for a correct answer, while others get 0 or a penalty if your house rules deduct for wrong buzzes.
How many teams can play on this Jeopardy! scorecard?
This scorecard supports 2–8 named teams — rename each column for your sides, whether you play classic three-contestant style or a larger trivia night.
Can I log wrong-answer penalties on this Jeopardy! scorecard?
Yes. Enter negative numbers when a team loses points for a wrong answer or penalty — the scorecard sums each row into running totals like the show.
Does this Jeopardy! scorecard include a timer?
Optional “Round timer” in setup sets how long teams have to answer each clue — start, pause, and reset on the scorecard, with a sound at zero. Leave it off if you time clues another way.
Who wins a Jeopardy! game night?
The team with the highest grand total when you finish the board (or your house stop point) wins — use your own tie-break if scores are level after Final Jeopardy.
